Coastal homes live with salt air, and salt films over crystal and brass faster than ordinary dust. Fixtures near kitchens collect a fine layer of cooking residue that dulls sparkle and attracts more dust. Homes under renovation, homes with fireplaces, and high traffic commercial spaces all push the schedule closer to once a year. Hotel lobbies and restaurants often benefit from service every six to twelve months because their fixtures are the first thing every guest sees.
Light dusting with a dry, clean microfiber cloth on the lowest crystals helps between visits. What we do not recommend is climbing high ladders, twisting crystals loose, or using household glass cleaners on fine fixtures. Many products leave residue or attack metal finishes, and a slip with a fragile fixture is expensive in more ways than one.
